The Pavlidis Vineyards |
In Northern Greece, 17 kilometers west of the city of Drama lies the Ktima Pavlidis winery, founded by the visionary Christoforos Pavlidis in 1988. The Estate is situated at an altitude of 240-340m. above sea level and the vineyards cover an area of 30 hectares.
 | The Pavlidis Winery | In the calcareous soil of the vineyard, the Greek varieties of Assyrtiko, Agiorgitiko, Limnio, the French varieties of Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and the Spanish variety of Tempranillo are all being cultivated. In the experimental stage, Malagouzia and Mavrodaphne are being cultivated in order to provide the foundation for some of Pavlidis wines of the future.
The yields do not exceed 2 kg per plant and the soil is red clayish. The main goals of Ktima Pavlidis are the production of premium, consumer friendly wines with unique and refined characteristics.

Ktima Pavlidis is a member of AVVNG (Association of Viniculturists of the Vineyard of Northern Greece) and the estate winery is a key point along the Wine Roads Of Macedonia.
The area of Drama has always been one of the most traditional grape growing and winemaking regions of Greece due to its unique soil and climate conditions. Many places near the city of Drama were reported to be places of worship of the ancient Greek god of wine Dionysus (many of these rituals still survive in various forms today).
